This was a Fourth of July day trip to both the Point Defiance Zoo in Tacoma, WA and Northwest Trek in Eatonville, WA. Being a holiday, both zoo’s were not very busy, and enjoyed spending a day at both. The Point Defiance Zoo has a couple of aquariums along with being able to view different animals. Northwest Trek’s main attraction is the tram ride you can do through their open roam area (think Jurassic Park but without dinosaurs). The open roam area is some 400 acres and includes many animals along with their typical zoo type exhibits.
