This state park is located on Hood Canal in Washington, just a hair south of Brinnon on highway 101. It is a good park to stay at, and I have always enjoyed it the few times I have stayed here. There is the campground portion on one side of the highway, and the day use on the opposing side. There is two entrances to the day use, heading from Brinnon the first is for the beach and the second is a picnic area with a restroom building, and one entrance for the campground. If you ever travel here, you first pass the first day use and cross a bridge across the Dosewallips river before entering the campground and second day use area.
A few of the downfalls of the park if you are staying here is highway noise pretty much 24 hours a day. If camping in a trailer, this may not be as big of a deal, but tent camping it may matter more to light sleepers. Also, people for whatever reason will start honking while passing the park. This has occurred at least once at my multiple stay’s at this park. It turns into a chain reaction thing, and I do not know the full reason on why it happens other than they do not like the park being there.
