This is an old destroyer ship that has been turned into a floating museum located in Bremerton, Washington. It is well worth the trip out, and like a few other of the things posted on this website, I have been here a few times. It is a really well put together museum, showing you what life was like on one of these destroyers during World War Two until about the end of the Vietnam War. If you are a history buff, you will for sure enjoy this museum.
For those of you who know a little about history and the Vietnam War, this one of the ships that triggered the Gulf of Tonkin incident. It came to aid the USS Maddox, which ended up was firing at a target that really did not exist, as the crew believed radar blips they were getting had been the Vietnamese enemy, when there was none at all. It eventually led to the Gulf of Tonkin Resolution, which changed the powers of commanders at war.
