This trip down to Florida was during mid April of 2021. I flew down on a Saturday and came home the following Sunday. During this trip we went up to Saint Augustine, down to Daytona Beach and the Daytona International Speedway, then over to Orlando and Epcot at Disney World. It was a good trip.
After spending a few days in Tampa, we drove up on Tuesday morning to Saint Augustine and spend the day there. We went into the Castillo de San Marcos fort there, an ex military fort from the late 1500’s that protected the town when it was first founded. Then we walked around town and took a look up near Flagler College.
After spending the day in Saint Augustine, we drove down to Daytona Beach. This overnight say, along with Saint Augustine, was a last minute addition to our trip, so we booked a hotel a day prior. We stayed at the the Bahama House, and I would not recommend it. It is a dated hotel in need of a remodel. Things like a rusting light fixture in the bathroom and a door to the balcony that hardly closed are all things that made this hotel look old. But, we went out the next day to Daytona International Speedway, out main point of staying in Daytona Beach for a good and interesting tour.
Then on Wednesday night we went out to Orlando and spend Thursday at Epcot in Disney World. The park was looked fairly crowded for 50% capacity that Disney states it is limiting its park to, so I wouldn’t really want to see it at full capacity. We had a fun day there before returning home to Tampa that evening.
It was a nice trip away, and look forward to my next trip down there in the future.
