We went up to Fort Casey State Park in late May of 2021. We had been to this park for a short time twice, one in the summer of 2015 and another time Thanksgiving weekend 2019. Both times we only spent about an hour or two here, so we wanted to book a stay for a longer time. Originally we had booked this trip for this time in 2020, but due to the Coronavirus pandemic we were unable to complete this trip. It was a weird time when certain parks were open and others were not, and this park had opened up the following Monday after when our trip had been planed last year.
This park is well worth a trip to. I would go so far to say, as Fort Flagler or Fort Worden, to stay overnight. But, if you give it a good chunk of your day, such as also applicable to the other parks, you could see all of its sights without an overnight stay. I believe this park is doing its best to keep the bunkers up out of the three. One section of its main bunker has electricity, which means it has working lights (and at least has had it since 2015), and it looks like work has been done on doing the same in other areas. The electrified portion also has been painted, and has “exhibits” in it talking about what certain rooms and areas were used for.
